The Assistant Accountant/ Payroll Officer role is a critical member of the Job Capital Team. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, and working in a small team of three.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll management on a weekly, fortnightly and monthly basis and leading the payroll team.
  • Preparation of payroll reports.
  • On boarding and off boarding new employees and contractors.
  • Statuatory and sales reporting (BAS, PRT, PAYG).
  • Bank reconciliation.
  • Raising invoices to the company debtors/ customers in a timely basis.
  • Debtor management.
  • Closing report processing.
  • Managing client and candidate inquiries with professionalism and enthusiasm.
  • Managing internal stakeholder relationships professionally and as a team member.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Accurate and timely payroll cycles.
  • Accurate and timely reporting and reconciliations.
  • Satisfied clients and candidates.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance.

The Assistant Accountant  role is a critical member of the Job Capital Team. Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, and working in a small team of three.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing and analyzing accounting records and ledgers, to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards
  • General ledger and Balance sheet management
  • Reconcile the balance in the subsidiary ledgers   
  • Depreciation schedules for fixed assets
  • Overseeing and supporting end to end all weekly, fortnightly and monthly pays
  • Managing periodic journals from payroll to accounting
  • AP and AR
  • Statutory reporting for BAS, PRT and PAYG

Qualifications and skills:

  • Bachelor degree or higher qualification
  • Diploma/ Certificate in Payroll (desired)
  • Min 5 years experience (in SME or small firm
  • Intermediate to advance Excel
  • MYOB, D-BIT, Xero or similar
